Turning a Pile of Ideas into a Published Book

When I first approached Casover Publishing, I didn’t really have a book but I did have years’ worth of material from my consulting work. Presentations, workshop notes, diagrams, doodles, ideas scribbled in margins and a huge amount of practical experience that I knew could become something valuable, but needed bringing together into a coherent manuscript.

Casover helped me turn that collection of ideas into The Next Generation Factory, a professionally produced business book that is now published and available through Waterstones, Barnes & Noble, Amazon KDP and other retailers.

Their support went far beyond simply putting the manuscript together. They helped me structure the material, challenged my thinking where necessary, critiqued the content and carried out a thorough manuscript review. That external perspective was invaluable in helping make sure the finished book was clear, engaging and useful to the people it was written for.

What impressed me most was their ability to take a large amount of fragmented material and help shape it into something that still felt completely like my book, my experience and my voice.

For anyone who has knowledge, experience or ideas they believe could become a book, but is staring at a mountain of notes wondering how to turn them into one, I would happily recommend Casover Publishing.

A manuscript review that helped me get my book published

I had the manuscript for Nature Boy’s Magical World reviewed by Steve Castledine of Casover Publishing and was very happy with his work. I took note of his suggestions and went through my manuscript amending it as proposed by him. I could see why each suggestion would make an improvement to my work.

Since then I have had my book accepted for publication by Oakist Press and it is now ready to be launched in the near future. My book includes a foreword that Steve also contributed.

I am very grateful for all the help I received and would recommend Steve Castledine’s review service most highly indeed!

Incredibly Thorough

I’ve worked with Steve in his previous incarnation and then through Casover with my various Sophie Penn books, such as Notes of Destiny, and in his development and sage advice on the use of AI in creative writing. One other has been with my children’s short stories as well.

Steve is very thorough and a perfectionist in what he does but not to the point of being overbearing – indeed, we have had many a lighter moment and shared good humour. He advises and coaches rather than say ‘it has to be done this way – there is no other option. He works closely with authors but will leave you alone if you are, say, really good at your own proofing. He also works to extract good ideas for covers be they from existing photo-stocks or derived through AI (or a combination thereof).

His background in media and the publishing world (on both sides of the fence) creates this solid, professional base and he works carefully with new authors so that one can quickly learn and incorporate his points – in his former company, I really benefitted from this as I came ‘to the market’ with my first novels. His cover refers to ‘Casover promises a properly managed route to publication, not a guaranteed commercial outcome.’ True – but this properly managed route certainly helps make a success of a book, particularly if it lands in Kindle Amazon, Waterstone’s, and the Barnes & Noble empires.

Good luck – and enjoy working with Steve as much as I have.

My experience with Casover Publishing has been positive and friendly

I have been an author that has followed the tradition route in trying to get published and have gone through the disappointment of rejection or just being totally ignored. The only time I ever got published by a normal publisher was with Casover Publishing. So for the first time in my life I found a publisher that seemed to like the type of books I write.
