Independent publishing, author controlled

Your book. A clear way forward.

Casover supports authors at three stages of publishing: a detailed assessment of a complete manuscript, preparation for publication and launch, or development of an already-published book’s Amazon market position. Each service is evidence-led and fixed in scope and price. AI does the reading. Steve Castledine does the judging, and signs every report. You choose the starting point and remain in control.

START WITH WHERE YOUR BOOK IS NOW

Three services. One next step.

You do not have to begin at the same point as every other author, and you do not have to commit to a complete publishing package. Choose the situation that best matches your book today.

Manuscript Review, £395

Your manuscript is complete. We assess the whole book, show you its strengths and its weaknesses with evidence from the text, and give you revision priorities in order.

Book Launch & Marketing Programme, £995

Your manuscript is ready and you want a launch that is planned rather than hoped for. We research your Amazon listing, write the listing material and give you a 90-day launch and marketing programme designed around your book, for you to carry out.

Amazon Book Market Development, from £495

Your book is published but not reaching enough of the right readers. We examine its Amazon position, its market and its presentation, and tell you what is realistically worth changing, and what is not.
A publishing partner, not a production line

Sound decisions before more expense.

Editorial work, design, production and launch preparation only work when the decisions behind them are sound. Casover looks at the book, the author and the real route to readers before recommending what should happen next.
We do not sell disconnected services or push every author through the same package. We start with where your book stands and do only the work the book justifies.
Your book. Your rights. Your decisions.
Human judgement, author control, fixed prices
STRAIGHTFORWARD FROM THE START

Understand the book. Decide what it needs. Do that work properly.

Before any paid work begins, we explain what we recommend, what that stage includes and what it will cost. Any later stage is a separate decision.
01

Tell us about your book

Explain where the book stands and what you want to achieve. No need to send the manuscript yet; we tell you how to send it securely once the scope is agreed.
02

We identify the starting point

We review what you send and tell you which of the three services, if any, is the right place to begin.
03

You decide whether to proceed

You receive a written scope setting out the work, the deliverables, the price and the delivery date. Nothing is charged until you accept it, and there is no package to buy.
04

Steve does the work

Reading, research, analysis and writing, to the agreed scope and date. AI does the reading. Steve does the judging, and asks you before making any call that is yours to make.
05

You receive the reports

PDFs that are yours to keep and a private Notion workspace for 90 days. Questions about the reports are welcome whenever they come. You publish and implement; Casover does not operate your KDP account.
06

Continue, pause or stop

Each service stands alone. Act on it yourself, come back for the next service, or stop. No package, no continuing share of your royalties.
CASOVER AUTHOR COMMUNITY

A forum for authors, free to join.

The Casover community is a place to ask questions, share what is working and compare notes with other authors, first-timers and the previously published alike.

Case study in progress – A Sapper’s Story
A Sapper’s Story is the first published book by Billy MacLeod MBE. Casover’s work with Billy brings together manuscript preparation, the author platform, pre-orders, print production, audience development and launch planning around a single independent publishing project.
The project secured more than 300 pre-orders before publication. Billy’s longstanding reputation and extensive network provided the essential foundation. Casover devised the pre-order methodology, built Billy’s website and customer journey, configured the CRM and email campaigns, and provided the technical support that helped turn that existing goodwill into confirmed orders. The result shows what an established audience and a properly organised campaign can make possible; it is not presented as a typical outcome or a promise for every author. Billy’s project was bespoke: four months of hands-on work alongside him. Casover does not offer that as a service. What it offers is the method that came out of it, in three fixed-price programmes any author can carry out themselves.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
01

Your voice remains yours

Your authorship, your editorial judgement and your approval govern the work. Nothing is finalised without your review and approval.
02

Straight recommendations

We tell you what the book needs next, with the evidence, before asking you to spend money on further work. If spending more is unlikely to help, we say so.
03

Accountable delivery

You know what Casover will do, what you will receive, what it costs and when it will arrive, all in writing before you pay anything.
