This privacy notice explains how Casover Publishing (“Casover”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information when you visit casover.com, make an enquiry, use a paid service or join the community. Community membership is separate from paid services.
Who we are
Casover Publishing provides manuscript reviews, book launch and marketing programmes, and Amazon book market development services. Casover Publishing is a trading name of Draft2Book LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in England and Wales under partnership number OC455633. Draft2Book LLP is the data controller for the information described in this notice.

Information we collect

Enquiry information: your name, email address, working title, genre, intended readership, approximate word count, manuscript stage, publishing aims and anything else you choose to include.

Project and client information: correspondence, written scope and acceptance, Project Start Information, manuscripts and other supplied files, approvals, reports, invoices, and order and payment records needed to deliver an agreed service.

Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, security logs, cookie choices and information about how the website is used.

Marketing preferences: only where you have asked to receive updates or otherwise given permission.
Please do not send a complete manuscript, payment-card information or unnecessary sensitive personal information through an enquiry form.
If you join the community, we also handle your account and profile information and content you choose to contribute. Community membership does not commission a paid service.
How and why we use it
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, assess whether Casover is a suitable fit, prepare proposals, deliver agreed services, administer community membership, maintain project and financial records, protect the website, improve our services and comply with legal obligations.
The service scope is accepted in writing before payment or work begins. Project Start Information collects the information needed for the agreed service; it is not a new order or a change to the accepted scope.
Our lawful bases may include taking steps at your request before entering a contract, performing a contract, complying with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests in running and protecting the business, and consent where consent is appropriate. You can withdraw consent at any time, although this will not affect earlier lawful use.
Who may receive information
We do not sell personal information. We may use trusted providers for website hosting and security, forms and customer management, email delivery, file storage, payment processing, AI-assisted analysis and drafting, analytics, professional advice and specialist services agreed for a project. We share only what is reasonably necessary and require appropriate protection.
Fluent Forms handles service enquiries, general enquiries and Project Start Information. FluentCart handles service orders and associated customer and payment records; payment details are processed through the payment provider shown at checkout. FluentCommunity supports community accounts and participation.
Agreed reports and material are delivered through a private Notion workspace, with downloadable PDFs of the principal final reports. AI tools may process supplied manuscripts and project material to support the agreed analysis or drafting. A Casover reviewer directs the work, assesses the reports and selects the feedback; Manuscript Review is not a cover-to-cover human read.
Manuscripts and non-public project material are handled as confidential and shared only as needed for the agreed service, subject to legal obligations.
Some suppliers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism or rely on an applicable adequacy decision.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses essential cookies needed for security and operation. Analytics or advertising technologies are used only in accordance with the choices offered by the cookie controls. You can change your browser settings and any choices offered on the site.
How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as it is reasonably needed. Unsuccessful or inactive enquiries are normally reviewed for deletion after 24 months. Client, contract and financial records may be retained for up to six years, or longer where the law or an active dispute requires it. Project files are handled according to the relevant service agreement and practical publishing requirements.
Client access to the private Notion workspace lasts for 90 days after final delivery. This access period is separate from the retention periods for project, contract and financial records. Download the principal final reports as PDFs during that period.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including access controls, secure connections, updates and reputable service providers. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to be informed, access your information, correct it, request deletion or restriction, object to certain uses, receive portable data and withdraw consent. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
