What you receive

A report of original wording and suggested corrections, author questions and a practical style sheet. Your reports are delivered through private Notion pages, with downloadable PDF copies available within those pages. Access is available for 90 days after final delivery; download your PDF copies to keep.

This service does not include book formatting, checking the final print layout, developmental editing, rewriting, specialist fact-checking or a full copy-edit. Casover does not edit your manuscript. Later revisions or further checks are separately agreed work.

Is your proofread already included?

If you booked a £395 Manuscript Review in October or November 2026, one proofread of the same book after revision is included. Submit the complete files within six months of receiving your review. The separate £145 Revised Manuscript Review is not included.

Claim your included proofread or check eligibility. Use the separate claim page, which has no checkout. Provide your review order number or booking details. Do not complete the paid booking below or pay again. Steve will check your entitlement before work starts.

1. Supply your proofreading brief and files

No prior enquiry is needed for standalone proofreading. Use the same email address for this brief and your payment. Upload your complete manuscript as a Word (.docx) file. If you write in Google Docs, choose File → Download → Microsoft Word (.docx), then upload that file. Do not supply a PDF or a shared manuscript link.

Delivery is within 10 working days of payment and receipt of all complete, accessible files for your check. If you do not request an early start and a 14-day cancellation period applies, work starts after that period and the 10-working-day delivery period runs from then, provided the other requirements are met. Steve confirms the delivery date.

I understand that, if I cancel during that period after work has begun, I may have to pay a reasonable amount proportionate to the services supplied before cancellation. I acknowledge that I lose my cancellation right once the service has been fully performed. My other statutory rights are unaffected.

Only pay here for standalone proofreading. If claiming an included proofread, awaiting an eligibility check or already paid, do not pay again.

Before starting work, Steve will check your manuscript and brief to make sure this service can provide a useful proofread within its advertised scope. If it isn’t the right fit, we’ll explain why and refund your payment in full.

If a file is missing, unreadable or inaccessible, we’ll contact you to resolve that first. We won’t change the service or make any additional charge without your agreement. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
