WHAT IT COSTS

£395 up to 80,000 words.

£495 for manuscripts over 80,000 and up to 120,000 words. Longer manuscripts are quoted before you commit. Paid in full at the outset, and there is nothing further to pay unless you decide to go on. Once you have revised, a follow-up review of the same manuscript is £145, or £185 over 80,000 words.

WHAT IT COVERS

Editorial status and overview

A clear assessment of where the manuscript stands, its principal strengths and the issues affecting the book as a whole.

Structure and progression

Narrative or argument arc, organisation, pacing, progression and whether the ending fulfils the book’s promise.

Character, voice or authority

Character, viewpoint, dialogue and voice in fiction, or authority, clarity and reader trust in non-fiction.

Evidence and verification

Source-integrity, factual, permissions, legal or reader-safety concerns are flagged where the manuscript supports them.

Copy-edit readiness

Whether the manuscript is sufficiently settled to move into copy-editing, with recurring line-level and presentation issues flagged.

Prioritised revision actions

The most important changes placed in a practical order, alongside the strengths that should be protected during revision.

Manuscript Review is £395 for manuscripts up to 80,000 words and £495 for manuscripts over 80,000 and up to 120,000 words. Longer manuscripts are quoted before any work begins. The Manuscript Review is paid in full once the scope and price have been agreed in writing.
