MANUSCRIPT REVIEW

Understand your manuscript’s strengths and revision priorities.

A £395 review of your complete manuscript before publication, including a substantial revision of a previously published book. You receive an editorial assessment, the strengths to keep and revision priorities grounded in the text, within 10 working days of Steve receiving the manuscript.
WHAT IT COSTS

Manuscript Review: £395, any manuscript length.

The £395 flat fee covers your complete manuscript, whatever its length. Nothing is charged and no work starts until you have accepted a written scope setting out the work, the price and the delivery date. An optional Follow-Up Revision Review, after you have revised, costs £145.

CLEAR BOUNDARIES

What the Manuscript Review does not include.

The review is an assessment, not an edit. It does not include:
Rewriting, copy-editing or proofreading the manuscript
Full fact-checking, specialist legal review or permissions work
Cover design, interior design or production of publication files
Researched Amazon metadata, categories or keywords; sales copy or sales strategy; launch marketing, advertising campaigns or KDP publication
HOW IT WORKS

From enquiry to your review report.

01

Tell us about the manuscript

Tell us about the book and its intended readers. They provide the context for the review.
02

Confirm the scope

Steve confirms the review suits your manuscript, sends the written scope with the price and delivery date, and tells you how to send the manuscript securely.
03

We review the complete manuscript

AI reads and analyses the whole manuscript. Steve Castledine directs that work, checks the findings against the text, decides what matters and writes the report, which he signs. If Casover adds a reviewer as the work grows, they will be named in your report and work to the same method. How Casover works with AI, in full.
04

Receive the report and decide

You keep creative control and can accept, adapt or decline the recommendations. Questions about the report are welcome whenever they come; the project records are kept. Reviewing a revised manuscript is new work, covered by the £145 Follow-Up Revision Review.
"The amount of feedback could initially feel daunting, but it was relevant, practical and consistently useful in helping authors strengthen and finalise their manuscripts. The turnaround was also quick, given the level of analysis involved."
Phil Stevens, former publisher at FDC Publications, who used the method behind this service across dozens of author titles
