Stephen (Steve) Glover

Steve Glover

Bio

Stephen Glover is a writer and editor, based in the UK who, along with his interest in the classic fiction of the late-nineteenth-century and the early part of the twentieth, is also an award-nominated comedy-writer and an award-winning playwright.

Alongside the comedy genius of the creator responsible for the iconic “Only Fools and Horses”, John Sullivan, he co-authored the British sitcom “Heartburn Hotel”, which aired on BBC-One from 1998 to 2000 and was nominated in the “Best New Comedy” category at the British Comedy Awards in 1998 with “The Royle Family” and “Goodness Gracious Me”.

After taking a solo credit for the penning of a Xmas-Special for the same series and going on to work on the second series of six episodes, Stephen followed this with the award-winning play “Lubbock’s Balls” in 2003.

Next came a spell from 2007-2008 as the sometime director and writer-in-residence (alongside actor/writer Kim Wall) with the touring theatre company known as “The Radio Players”. A happy collaboration with some fifty talented actors and the company’s enthusiastic backers – at least until the banking crash of 2008 ensured the private-funding propelling the venture forward was no longer forthcoming.

After this – and up to the present – came a collaboration with friend and business partner, Phil Stevens, in an ePublishing platform set-up to provide those writing on more niche subjects a chance to have themselves published without the necessity of jumping through the hoops required by more mainstream and traditional publishers.

“Madame Solange” is one of a number of tales from Stephen’s back-catalogue that he is in the process of updating and re-drafting and reflects perfectly his interest in the horror, crime, and suspense fiction of greats such as Poe, de Maupassant, Blackwood, and Conan Doyle.

Stephen is married to Frances, and they have lived in Surrey for the past forty-years.
