M. Daniel Dinkins

Bio

I am a published poet and acclaimed short story writer. My journey into the literary world began at the age of eighteen with my first published poem. Since then, I have authored notable books including Crossroads and Brother Under The Cold Hand.

My work has garnered recognition, winning prestigious awards such as the Paul Lawrence Dunbar Poetry Award and the Poetry Award in the Social Commentary category from Lakeland College.

In addition to poetry, I have penned numerous short stories, including Tammy and the Cane Whisperer, Come With Me Tonight, Angela’s Revenge, Rebecca’s Loving Gift, and many more. My fiction writing has also been honoured, receiving the Dogwood Tales Magazine fiction award.

I have written in horror, sci-fi, crime, humour, and mystery genres.

Professional Experience

I graduated Suma Cum Laud with a degree in English Literature and Composition.
I spent nearly forty years working in academia in both public college and private Jesuit university as a research librarian and writing coach.
